September 17, 2021 - Light crystal clean yellow colour. Strong citrus and lemon peel nose. Big flavour, with a long crisp but dry finish that defies its 9 year age. There is a lot of fruit flavour in this wine and I suspect it is only a beginner. This is a semillon with backbone. Great with home made pasta.

February 16, 2020 - It’s a good wine and was very popular with my companions, but I thought there might have been a bit more richness/complexity.

I don’t have a lot of experience with Hunter Semillon - I bought this in part to rectify that. I take heart from the fact that it doesn’t appear to be fading. It will be interesting to see how the remaining bottles drink over the next few years and how it compares with the ‘13 and ‘14.

June 25, 2019 - The tell tale signs of a wet vintage is very evident in this wine.
Lemon zest and a quite evident grea pea character dominates the wine on both nose and palate. While there is a long acid backbone and a line of waxy semillon fruit, there is little prospect of this wine filling out with further bottle age. The mouth puckering acidity stays with you for some time. Best probably with shellfish.

March 9, 2019 - Hunter Valley 2019 Trip; 3/8/2019-3/9/2019: Herbal and Asian greens, pineapple and wax. Tangy acid on the palate. Medium length. Will age for 5-6 more years before being at its peak.

January 26, 2019 - Drank alongside a Tyrrells Vat 1 from the same vintage. Both excellent examples of Hunter Semillon. Fresh lemon zest, citrus with a firem acid backbone. Great drinking now.
