April 3, 2024 - Late night at home with J. 3+ hours of air in bottle. Drank in Sydonios Meridional.
Appearance is clear, deep intensity, ruby colour. Legs.
Nose is clean, medium+ intensity, with aromas of integrated vanilla milk toast oak, grilled herbs, capsicum spicy bell pepper, blackcurrant, blackberries, black cherries. Developed.
On the plate, dry, medium acidity, medium+ alcohol (14.2%), very smooth fully integrated high tannins, full body. Medium+ flavour intensity, with flavours of integrated oak and vanilla milk, blackcurrant, blackberries, grilled herbs, tobacco, touch of capsicum. Medium+ finish.
Good quality. Acidity sensation not giving it a good enough lift, so better to drink it up already, since oak is integrated and tannins all smoothened out.

October 3, 2022 - Wow. In fabulous shape. I see others saying drink up but on the showing of this one bottle, there isn’t a rush - though it’s drinking so well now I doubt you would be disappointed if you open a bottle tonight.

April 27, 2022 - Nose of black cherry, black berry, mocha, and forest floor, same on the palate, medium body, elegant tasting, time to drink up is now, mouth filling fruit, showing its age, and a long finish.

August 8, 2021 - Decanted 1 hr. Opened this as a hedge on a 1996 Silver Oak I opened (was faded but still solid) and found it also past it’s prime but still pretty tasty. Dark fruit on the nose - blackberry and dark cherry. On the palate the dark blueberry and blackberrry fruit was secondary to roasted coffee and woody notes. Still had medium + tannin. Medium finish. Feels like it’s prime days are behind it - but still a decent showing.
