November 30, 2014 - When we tasted this wine some 18 months ago we thought it had stood up remarkably well to the test of time and that there was no rush to enjoy our remaining bottles. We opened another bottle to complement our Thanksgiving turkey and found it still drinking delightfully well: still fruity and well-balanced, though perhaps somewhat more subdued and subtle than the bottle we had a year and a half ago. In view of that, it will probably be prudent to drink our remaining bottles over the next 2-3 years.

March 3, 2013 - Our cellar consists predominantly of Bordeaux, so many fewer Burgundies, and thus it's a real treat for us when we get to drink an excellent example of the latter. The four of us at dinner last night all agreed that this wine was elegant with lots of fruit, opening up throughout the meal and making a lovely accompaniment to duck. This wine should continue to drink well in the coming years. It's curious that previous raters did not appear to enjoy the wine nearly as much as we did. Did they drink it too soon?

August 11, 2011 - Remarkable. The third bottle is not only alive, but attractive. Attractive in a very elderly way, but this is Chelsea Pensioner elderly, not geriatric; head held high and handshake firm. The fruit is faded, but it's still there, and it's sweet. Diffused rather than precise. Unconcentrated and less than intense. A different sort of Burgundian pleasure. g

July 28, 2011 - It's had a long life. Too long, really. There should really have been a mercy killing, sometime around the start of the century. But it's bad form to speak ill of the dead. RIP

October 15, 2009 - Part of an auction job lot. Cloudy and faded. Tertiary fruit, but sweet, and held up by a pleasant tannic finish. Geriatric, but not without charm. g-
