Community Tasting Notes 11

September 9, 2019 - 7 years after first tasting it, this remains a highly impressive wine. It has evolved to emulating a very solid left bank Bordeaux but with some characteristic mustiness of an old style Rioja. Fruit is still holding strong with a solid tannin backing, so this could still easily age another 5 years and hold it's own extremely well.

February 15, 2016 - Clearly a top example of judean hills Bordeaux blends. There was a concentrated depth of flavor here with integrated fruit and oak and still present acidity. However, the length you'd expect from a $50 bottle just wasn't there. Tasted over 3 hours the wine started strong but faded quickly. While very good now I don't see it getting much better, although it may just have been in an odd spot in its drinking window. Overall, dark fruit and classic judean hills terroir make this a terrific wine if you have some extra shekels laying around.

January 7, 2016 - Dominant wood, overwhelming whatever was left from the fruit.

August 19, 2013 - Clos de Gat tasting (Bin 281 (organised by M. Raab)): dark red-purple colour
elegant secondary notes of sweet round wine
full bodied, firm tight tannins, good acidity, good harmony, red fruits flavours, medium ending.
Still young. requires further 2-3 years of ageing.
