  January 6, 2019 - 14.5% alcohol, medium to heavy foil, appears to be real cork; vinturied and tasted at ca 14 degrees C; nose of cherry juice, citrus & alcohol; fruit forward; taste: notes of cherries, prunes, plums -- taste explodes on the tongue -- a fabulous combination of tannins and fruit, which is more intense than sweet; medium finish, pair with hard or soft cheese, or drink solo; bought at a wine tasting at the Red Mountain winery in 2012; although the wine appears to have aged well, it deteriorates rapidly when stored in the fridge overnight after opening

  February 8, 2014 - Solid as always. Still have '08 and '09 as well as '10 and '11; should I do a vertical some night?

  December 2, 2013 - This cooler vintage has produced a less of an up-front wine than the warm vintages of '07 or '09. What has stayed the same is the wonderful fruit with soft tannins. A special vineyard and producer. Light sediment at the end of the bottle.

  July 14, 2013 - As far as New World Syrahs go, Tapteil ranks among my favorite. I still think the 2008 was awesome but this one is really nice. Good concentration and great taste profile backed by rock solid structure.
