March 8, 2020 - Acker Rene Rostaing Cote Rotie Retrospective (1978 - 2005) (NY): Surprisingly youthful for a 30 year wine. Shows the power of the vintage well. Stewed fruit. Menthol finish. Nicely balanced. 94-95

January 4, 2018 - Highly elegant flavors of red fruit, grilled meat, spice, pepper and tar. Popped and poured. Medium red color. Not a big wine at all but so much elegance and grace. Lots of balance with refined tannins and fruit characteristics. Lovely texture. A very complete wine at this stage and highly enjoyable.

April 1, 2017 - Bucket List 3.0 (Sbicca Restaurant, Del Mar, California): Decanted. Clear deep garnet color, not quite as dark as 1997 Guigal La Turque tasted alongside. Superb bouquet of mixed red fruit, herbs, light bacon fat, stony soil. Similar on the palate, seamless, elegant, with medium-full body, superb balance. Refined and mellow, kept up with the Guigal just fine, though more subdued in style. Group's THIRD PLACE in this flight.

December 12, 2015 - Lovely, superb, mature cote rotie. Wild herbs, hint of olives, slightly menthol. Needs about 1.5-2 hrs air. Very elegant.

February 13, 2011 - @ La Sirene. From Paul J's impeccable cellar. Opaque purple/ink in color. Bright berry fruit and garrigue spice notes on the nose. On the palate, the wine is silky-smooth and resolved. Unfortunately, I can't recall much more than the berry fruit and elegant spice. It was fun to drink!
