May 13, 2016 - Clear, medium gold hue. Medium intensity of orange peel, white Peach, lime, baked peaches, petrol and nectarines. Off-key medium plus body, low acidity with flavors complexity and balance. Low alcohol. Honey dipped apples, dried mango, ginger, slate and a rubber note. I thought this was excellent representation of German riesling. Almost more of a auslese rather then a Spätlese. Besides that, the wine is delicious. Good qpr.

July 4, 2013 - Yellow straw; very youthful with lots of baby fat, slatey goodness, sweet fruit, with some complex celery or some vegetal note in the background; candied ginger, lime, and some grapefruit pith on the finish, sweetness is obvious now so I think some bottle age would get this wine to a better place.

May 19, 2013 - Very lime-heavy profile, extremely delicious but lacking seriousness or concentration. Quite short, too. Brilliant drinking in the near term.

(Meulenhof Wehlener Sonnenuhr Riesling Spätlese) ($22.00) Hail in Wehlen also; the wine has the fruit and fragrance I expect – or most of it – but the slate and lime are subdued, and this cask-sample is phenolically pronounced. I’m going to trust the richness of fruit, but will be eager to taste it again.
