March 23, 2024 - Never really opened; what fruit there was simple. Cellared since original release. This was screwcap; for some markets, Gunderloch bottled with cork.

March 15, 2024 - Screw cap. Quite interesting (or not) to taste a ~12 year old GG Riesling under screw cap. Some other notes here mention cork closure, interesting if this was bottled both under cork and screw cap. Anyway, nose is a bit muted and austere, but obvious Riesling character, hints of petrol, zesty citrus. Palate is like nose. Pretty basic and ultimately disappointing for a 12 year old GG wine.

February 4, 2020 - From 75cl screwcap. Surprised how austere this was, only a few months after my last TN. Incense, salinity and sage as previously noted, but the texture has thinned out considerably and the mid-palate could actually do with a touch more residual sugar (I never thought I would ever think this about a Riesling, let alone confess it in a TN...) Drink up. 88P

October 8, 2019 - From 75cl, good cork, P+P. As noted on 02.06.2018, but drying out and showing considerable (delicious) salinity on the mid-palate: One to drink sooner rather than later. A rich, incense-infused delight now-2020, perhaps -2021. 91P

June 2, 2018 - From 75cl screwcap. Zweder's TN are almost always spot on, but on 23.09.2012 this wine was surely just far too young. Now entering maturity, this bottle has a knockout incense scent, like an Anglican service: All Smells and Bells. Lovely acid balance and medium weight on the entry – a substantial Spätlese trocken (but not too trocken...) Supple, sage-led herbal mid-palate. Good for at least 3-5 years to come, depending on individual preference. 90(+)P
