October 13, 2023 - Drank together with 2011 Domaine Montrachet at Bymark, blind. Deep gold. Very forward citrus and pear with some exotic fruit complexity. Wood totally integrated. Palate was mouth coating, with great acidity and balance. Near perfect , except for the comparison to the Montrachet. What a treat. As DG noted, it was like two race cars pulling out going through the gears and ultimately the Montrachet had one more gear.

November 24, 2022 - really good. the nose has complex aromas of butterscotch, honey, spearmint ang tangerine. in the mouth mineral driven, with loads of citrus, but still having the densely bodied lactic quality, as if i were drinking sweet churned butter. rich while being nervy. impressive wine.

February 12, 2021 - Expressive nose of lemon curd, flowers, minerals. Light and fresh but not lean on the palate. Really precise and racy. Excellent

September 17, 2020 - So much freshness with strong lime and citrus flavours. Simply delicious but can only get better from here with more age.

May 23, 2020 - Tasted blind. This wine really delivered. Nose of green apples, lemon curd, crunchy corn. On the palate it is both nuanced, elegant and has a great mid mouth fill. A great Chevalier. Still young. 96+

January 27, 2019 - Chevalier-Montrachet is a grand cru vineyard located at the very southern end of the Côte d'Or. It's often regarded as the THE place for Chardonnay, where some of the most expressive (and expensive) wines are born and bred. Vineyards are planted on limestone soils on 300 m high slopes. The fruit for this white was hand-picked and every single grape was sorted manually. After that, the aging process lasted for 12 months in French oak (15% new).

Deep golden yellow in the glass. Huuuuuge complexity right off the nose, with the initial oak being quite forceful if you skip decanting. Opens up gorgeously after a few hours and delivers delight on the palate. The fruit and oak mingle like they were meant for each other from the very beginning. Such purity is rarely detected in life (if you don't count a dog's soul). Notes of freshly sliced green apple burst open on the first sip, then comes the impeccable blend of tropical and citrus fruit. Imagine if the universe created the perfect lemon-banana fruit. Yeah, that fruit would be the staple of this Chardonnay. Then the brioche comes in, with mango tart and cream following. Not a fat and showy wine, just superbly balanced and lively throughout the entire experience thanks to the acidity acting as a firm backbone. Eternal, clean aftertaste. We always complain about Burgundy's prices and their huge gaps between entry and grand cru levels, but when they go for hedonism, they make it god damn sublime.
