April 20, 2024 - Mind blowing basically. Delightly gunflint, citrus. (371/901)

April 14, 2019 - Tasted alongside the 2004. They are both amazing wines, though this one is a step above the 2004. Focused notes of popcorn, matchstick, and tangerine. Dense in the mouth, and still very young and enjoyable.

Four days later, the wine was still so fresh that I thought it (the opened bottle + inert gas) needed more time. You can let it age for 10 more years easily.

March 11, 2017 - Paulee. Aching purity, crystalline. Struck match, toffee, caramel nose.

March 11, 2017 - La Paulée de New York Gala Dinner (Pier Sixty - New York NY): Small glass, brief note. Served alongside the 2005. Ripe apple, baked apple, subtle tropical undertones, caramelized hazelnut, all with intense concentration and seemingly perfect harmony. Then suddenly a mineral burst at the finish is the cherry on top!

January 7, 2017 - Tasted alongside the 2002 d'Auvenay En La Richarde. Shows riper fruit and the gunflint note is more prevalent. Like rolling rocks in the mouth. The minerality and the energy of the fruit stayed constant in this one over a few days of tasting from recorked and inert-gas-sealed bottles compared to the En La Richarde, where they faded faster. Great wine.
