December 26, 2022 - Finally decided to open my magnum (only 30 made). Took time to open, but when it finally decided to open up, it was fabtastic; decant for at least 2 hours. You would have told me we were drinking Hermitage from Chave, I would have believed you. Meaty, spicy, leathery and flowery (violet)…absolutely fantastic. Perfectly balanced and fresh. Doesn’t look 13 years old. Even though it will last at least 5 years, I don’t see how it could improve, especially from a 750ml, so my recommendation is to enjoy it now; very close to its peak.

February 27, 2022 - Really peaking right now, very glad to have had it. It was an extravagance but worth experimenting versus the 2018, which it soundly thrashed.

July 18, 2020 - Excellent Syrah. Appears to be no more than 5 year-old. Not the most exuberant, but offering a perfect structure texture and balance. Very Northern Rhone-like. Decant for at least 1.5-2 hours. Enjoy now or cellar for another 5 years. This is the Syrah that won the Montreal Tasting (best syrah of the world), a few years ago.

August 10, 2017 - No idea how someone in British Columbia, of all places, manages to make the most Northern Rhonish syrah in the world, but they do, and this Equinox is their flagship wine. Black raspberry fruit, fennel, roasted meat, earth and many other nuances, great depth and balance. Would give it more time than the 'drink latest' dates below, 2021 at least.

August 7, 2017 - Medium red. Intense nose but still elegant. Blackberry, raspberry, pepper, smoked meat and cedar. Delicious meaty berry flavours and a long dry balanced finish.

The wine was intense but never hinted at ripeness, instead it was elegant and beautiful.
