January 18, 2022 - Jean and Jim visit Princeton, last bottle of this in my cellar...a great excuse to open it.

Splash decanted, wine was showing great right out of the bottle. Mostly consistent with previous profile notes. Nose jumped out during the decant - still really expressive. Cherry and blackberry notes still notable.

Wine still showing great depth, its aged nicely (based on this bottle) still has a number of years ahead of it.

July 2, 2020 - In OCNJ with family, served with Piccini's takeout...great excuse to open another one of these. PnP, drank over 2 hours

Mostly consistent with prior notes. Nose was really fragrant, more expressive than I remember last bottle . Fruit seems more brambly, blue as it ages.

Really great now, one bottle left, should go for a bit if wanting to hold but worth opening now! Went back to purchase notes...we paid $67 for this! A steal by PNV pricing standards

January 26, 2019 - At home with Valerie and Suzy. Good chance to check in on this again, my 08 Napas are drinking well. Decanted for about 30 minutes, drank over an hour.

Prior notes: "Fragrant nose of black fruits. Palate was brambly fruit, red currants, blackberry, tart raspberry. Pronounced and rich mid palate. Long and layered finish. Tannins starting to resolve..."

Really great on this tasting - nose as a remember it with a hint of blue fruit this time. Age has done it well, tannins are refined and smoothed, fruit is still bright and expressive. Its settled and more elegant at this point. Should go a while if wanting to cellar. Great PNV wine!

July 5, 2018 - In OCNJ, dinner with the extended famille Muller and Gibbs...PnP after a 2009 Gemstone PNV...

From prior notes: "Fragrant nose of black fruits. Palate was brambly fruit, red currants, blackberry, tart raspberry. Pronounced and rich mid palate. Long and layered finish. Tannins starting to resolve..."
This bottle really impressed the group. Tannins a bit more softer (from memory), expressive and nuanced nose, rich Ca fruit throughout.

Wine is in a good spot now, should drink well for at least another 5-7 years

October 7, 2016 - With friends Marsilio's Kitchen in West Trenton, great Italian food, BYO. First bottle bought from the PNV auction, in my cellar since. Just starting to open these wines, most have aged beautifully. PnP with this bottle, drank over 2 hours.

Fragrant nose of black fruits. Palate was brambly fruit, red currants, blackberry, tart raspberry. Pronounced and rich mid palate. Long and layered finish. Tannins starting to resolve.

Fresh and stylish wine made from the 5 Bdx grapes from 5 locations in Napa. Both powerful and elegant, its very good now. Best guess is the wine continues to evolve and soften with a few more years in the bottle.

PS - Price on this wine was great compared to what we pay for these wines at release today...
