R.I.P. Christophe Delorme.

October 19, 2014 - The last vintage I bought of this wine as my palate matured and I realized I didn't like modern, pushed wines. I think Mordoree dialed it back a bit but this is still somewhat extracted and pushed, but there's also some nice funk on the nose and palate, some tobacco notes mixed in with the bright, polished fruit. This is not bad at all, quite enjoyable, but also I'm happy I stopped buying wines from Mordoree. Can live.

October 11, 2013 - This is a beautiful, earthy wine that has a nice balance between youthful fruit and color on the one hand, and brick and mature notes on the other hand. Nose is just a bit light with blackberry, earth, deep baking spices including just a touch of cardamom, and some sweet black coffee. Palate is mouthcoating and the rustic tannins are chewy. Blackberry, espresso, earth, leather, and sweet aged cigar tobacco stand out while leading to a medium to long finish. Alcohol is just a bit hot, but overall the wine is very enjoyable. I wish I had more bottles!
