April 29, 2022 - Sierra really liked. Time to drink up.
    3h decant.

April 4, 2021 - Stored in a climate controlled cellar since purchase upon release. This was really good, and a tasted a bit younger than the last bottle of this we opened a year ago (bottle variation, perhaps?). Subtle notes of raspberry and chocolate emerge on the nose at first, but after 2-3 hours it really started to shine opening to a more bouquet of rosemary, olive, spice, and anise. Forest floor complicated it further with more time, but the nose was never super forthcoming. In the mouth, this was a much bigger wine that the last bottle, round and voluptuous, no hard edges, ample concentration, ripe dark fruit flavors melded with leather and herbs, and a long and decadent finish. It was just as good and a touch more complex and mature tasting on day 2. On the immanent drinkability/hedonism scale, this certainly hits the mark. It may gain more nuance/complexity with a few years time (so long as you don't open the bottle we had last year). If you have a few there's no harm in pulling the cork! 94+

March 21, 2020 - Stored in a climate-controlled cellar since purchase upon release. The nose was a little shy at first, but with some coaxing revealed notes of lavender, violet, rosemary, leather, and, with time, a rather vivid expression of chocolate-covered cherries. Dark fruit flavor profile melds with charcoal, mocha, tobacco, and a hint of fig in the mouth, all delivered in a medium-bodied package, well delineated, and balanced. The finish was notably short, but after 4-5 hours in the decanter it gained weight, a little depth, and length, and was probably at its best at this point. It was not, however, as good on day 2. Not sure what to do about my second bottle - I'll probably hold another 1-2 years to see what happens. A good showing, though not necessarily memorable, and not in the same league as the 2009 Pegau we had last week.
