June 1, 2010 - I'm much more of a cab sauv fan than merlot. Perhaps that is why I like this quite a bit. Decided to open 2003 Grgich Hills merlot along with this 2003 Wente Nth. Definitely prefer the Nth. Fruit and acidity still intact. Smooth and full body. Deep! Nice long finish. Yum.

January 10, 2009 - Good color, Soft mouth feel, good fruit with a nice finish that stays with you for 5 to 10 seconds after finishing. Nothing about the flavors that blows me away but very easy to drink and enjoyable. Probably drinking at its peak right now and will last another year or so. Sounds, looks and feels like Merlot.
