May 16, 2016 - Excellent mature Barbera. Integrated flavors buoyed by smooth, medium structure and acidity. Modest tannins at this point. Little or no decant required. Has life ahead, but gorgeous drinking now.

June 5, 2015 - Consistent with prior bottles; quite good. I see this hitting peak in another year or two. thru 2019, recommended

2 hour aeration in decanter; served non-blind

May 23, 2015 - {slow-O 1 hr} Medium>dark ruby. Tight nose, requires lots of swirling if you're looking to coax out any details. Mulberry, purple floral, vanilla, lipstick, soil, clove, plum and black cherry. The palate is medium-bodied, with loads of fresh acid. Not the most complex of wines (should it be at just $15?), but well balanced, and with more structure than the majority of wines at or near its price-point. Excellent pairing with grilled burgers. Of course, i had to use the Microplane to add some Parm-Regg (and you should, too, this wine is like a magnet for Parm-Regg). Respectable finish, this portends a decent (4-5) yr future should you wish to cellar. 13,0% abv. recommended

    Served non-blind at 64F degrees.

** at the 2 hr mark, some meat and game on the nose; not something I expected from a Barbera, but it worked nonetheless. All hail the Langhe! **

October 27, 2014 - Nice simple Barbera. Not overly acidic. Pairs well with food. Has significant sediment so best to decant.
