Community Tasting Notes 10

June 12, 2019 - Found another bottle - one of the positive benefits of shoddy inventory controls. ;^)

Consistent with my last note, this is excellent right now - at 15 years old, this wine has really come into its own, with sweet & sour white fruits, decent acidity and an expansive palate presence. It is becoming apparent that I drank most of my stash far too young - the wine has never been better, and while I don't believe it will improve at this point, I'd love to have a case in the cellar for drinking over the next five years.

Still has decent acidity for lift - pretty dry and medium-bodied on the palate. Sweet & sour white fruits, with good persistence. Unfortunately, I think this is my last bottle.

January 22, 2016 - Yellow-gold in the glass; pineapple on the nose.

Fairly dry on the palate - the nose "smells" sweeter than the wine tastes. Bright acidity. I like this quite a bit as a "stand-alone" wine, but my better half thought it was too sweet.

  • Bob H Likes this wine:

December 25, 2015 - Light golden in the glass, with a great nose featuring ripe pineapple and slate/rocks.

Tart and ripe white fruits, nice persistence, medium-bodied. Probably at peak right now, although no hurry if you have it in the cellar.

  • Bob H Likes this wine:

April 26, 2014 - Golden colored, probably a shade or two darker than the Hiedler GV I opened earlier. Great nose, nicely evolved, with white fruit cocktail and a slate nuance.

Sweet & sour fruit, nice persistence on the finish, quite dry - drinking very nicely today, and striking me as mature at this time.
