March 15, 2024 - Lacked vibrancy and the fruit was somewhat muted. Decent, yet disappointing.

February 4, 2023 - Dinner with Steve & Barbara (Their House): Bottle opened about 15 minutes before serving. A satisfying aged Napa Cab that was showing well but didn't knock us over. As other TNs have mentioned: blackberry, black currant and cassis fill the medium bodied palate along with some black cherry and just a touch of oak. The acidity was lively and balancing, and there was just a hint of tannins on the medium plus finish. A very nice match to the accompanying short ribs. This wine has aged well and will probably continue to do so for several more years.

January 29, 2022 - This is such a great spot, but probably has 3 years easy left at this peak. Showing zero signs of age. Absolute textbook stags leap

November 26, 2021 - This is a amazing new world Stags Leap cab with elegant acid and tannin balance. Lush ripe blackberry, cassis with menthol and cocoa. This is a serious wine that it made to last, still young and wil evolve further for many year. This 2010 vintage is just starting to show some age and tertiary layering and flavors. Magnificent old world elegance.

July 23, 2021 - Good Napa Cab. Slightly ripe, but rich blackberry fruit. Touch of capsicum pepper and earth on the nose, but lacks complexity and not much development at this stage. Drinking nicely in a fun way today, maybe best enjoyed now with the fruit at the fore?
