April 4, 2024 - Plenty of life left for these wines. Plenty of fruit and pepper and while the tannins have softened I think there’s at least another five years of good drinking window.

January 28, 2024 - After an hour in the decanter, opened up with a prune-y nose, with black fruits and light eucalyptus flavors. Annoyingly aggressive alcohol numbs the mouth after a second glass. A decent Cab, but nowhere close to the perfect WA score it was given just a few years ago.

January 14, 2024 - Out of the 4 cabs this was clearly the weakest, although it had very strong competition (Latour, Lafite, Ridge). Still, this had promise, with camphor, higher toned dark berries, and an rich, silky, slightly glycerin -overly polished sort of aspect. Maybe over-produced? December 15, 2023 - Opened earlier in the day ahead of a Cab bottle fest & dinner. Cork was a bit of a struggle. dried top but snug and clean bottom. Contents were in fine condition. Great depth and breadth in the aromatics. Complex aroma of ripe and dried dk red fruits. Integrated savouries of cedar, tobacco and subtle mint. Mouth-filling body and repeat of the aromatic elements. Long finish. Briliant with the ribeyes and lamb chops. My WOTN. Thanks for popping DV!

September 15, 2023 - PnP. Initial funk nose and after decanting blew away. Drank over an hour and it just got better. Drink or hold.

4/21/2009 (link) ***** points(Quilceda Creek Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley) A fragrant nose with rich black and blue fruit mix with wood smoke and anise seed. Holy smokes what a monster on the taste! A huge tannin lick. A dense, rich, outrageous wine that needs many, many years of time. After several hours of decanting the tannins start to calm down. Give this wine quite a bit of time in the cellar still. 97% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot. Champoux, Ciel du Cheval, Klipsun, and Tapteil vineyards. 14.9% alcohol. 3,400 cases produced. Sampled at 63 degrees.
