September 4, 2021 - Tasted blind. Yeasty and rich, obviously BdB with some age. Opulent but with ample acidity. Not as mineral as Gimmonet usually makes but could be the age.

2011 Champagne Catalog, 6/1/2011 (link)(Pierre Gimonnet et Fils "Spécial Club" Brut) ($88.00) Disgorged 11/10. Enticing and still subtle fragrances, green and silver; the palate is so cool and shady and green, both refreshing and complex, and with an oblique density that consolidates into a solid clinging finish, as sweetly vegetable as Gyokoru and as savory as roasted green beans and fennel. A remarkable wine that’s a bit of a rogue variable for this grower. Just for shitz’n-giggles, here’s what I wrote last year:
