April 4, 2024 - Deep ruby color. Aromas of plums, blackberries, blackcurrants, licorice, tobacco, smoke. Medium+ bodied, medium+ acidity, fine tannins, balanced alcohol, intense. Persistent. Long.

September 25, 2023 - Young …needs an hour to open . Clos Apalta has an interesting mid palate to me ….ripe plum , raisins and spice. More structure and complexity than the early 2000’s vintages makes me think this will will age longer.

July 16, 2023 - this was very very enjoyable. popped, decanted and then drunk pretty much right away. bright red fruit, more new world in profile and flavor; would have blind guessed a CA cab. a fun bottle to end an evening of food and wine with friends.

April 21, 2023 - 1 hour decant - enjoyed over several hours. Aroma of rich, exotic fruit with citrus notes. Full bodied, grippy tannins and long finish. Seems to be in a good window.
