January 18, 2021 - Cork was in great shape and fill was into neck. Great condition. This looked old, you can see through the wine, not brown, but light. Sweet sappy fruits. The fruit was still present, pencil shavings, candied apple. Very old for sure but held up nicely. within 2 hours turned to rust water in appearance, but drank well all night. GOLDSTONE's tasting note is spot on except this lasted for a few hours easily

    Quite faded but still there

July 8, 2020 - Bordeaux Left Bank First Growth BYO (Grand Hyatt Hong Kong): Rosé color, fading weight but still fine. 91

June 4, 2015 - Old Bordeaux Dinner (Hong Kong Country Club, Shouson Hill, Hong Kong): Light, totally transparent, amber-crimson-sepia hue. Nose is gorgeous: light and fleeting like a water-based perfume, some pencil lead and pencil shavings, tons of fruit still - like confit raspberry. No sign of oxidisation or mustiness. Palate still has a lot of acidic life together with a lightly dusted attic and an old aunt who smells of talcum powder. Lightly resonant but still definitely resonant. For me, a perfect old wine on the nose and impressive for such an unremarkable year. However, this did drop off quite quickly in the glass.

May 10, 2014 - Predictably old. Very pale brown, the colour of lightly brewed tea. No fruit left but tertiary flavours of tobacco and leather show through and length is pleasant. This is a birth year wine for me so it's always a pleasure to drink, even though it was far from its best and was plainly starting off from a poor vintage.
