Community Tasting Notes 5

December 2, 2019 - Muted black fruit, tobacco, black pepper, dark spices and earth. Excellent concentration, muted black fruit, medium acidity, still noticeable tannins and a relatively short finish as the bitterness clips the finish.

January 17, 2019 - Better than last bottle, but not a great C9P considering the vintage.

January 22, 2018 - Not in balance at all - odd bottle?

February 2, 2017 - Darkish crimson color. Plum, kirsch, earth, dust, licorice, menthol, raisin, coffee, graphite and black pepper. I let the wine breathe 8 hours but it was still quite passive. So I closed the cork and opened again next day(almost the day after tomorrow). Wow, it had become a beast veiling sharp nails on his foot. It is totally different from the 2009 Cornelia Constanza which is delicate and elegant type. '10 has intense, powerful and yet keen palate especially as to kirsch kick. Rocky structure and hot alcohol were there too. Maybe '09 is better for now, but after 5-10 years, '09 will be not comparable to '10. Only Jeb Dunnuck gave ultra high score(98 pts) on this wine. I agree with what he said "this might be a love it or leave it wine.". I guess he had found something else which other critics couldn't find from it. 93-96 pts. Alc. 15.0%

December 23, 2016 - Elegant and graceful and not sweet at all. Not my grape (100% Grenache), and I'm not so familiar with Rhone, but I allow myself to score this 93 pts.
Initially quite a lot of oak, so at this stage a long decant is necessary.
