Community Tasting Notes 5

May 5, 2013 - Santa Cruz? Any rough edges have been smoothed. Medium bodied, almost Pinot-esque. I sensed chocolate and herbs, very little acid, and pleasant tannins. Not terribly complex, but the smoothness plus the fruit make this a worthwhile bottle. The wine has a lot of life left. Drink 2013 - 2023

November 26, 2011 - Tannic, hard and slightly austere, this medium bodied wine is a very traditional styled. It will probably please some tasters more than it did me.

November 15, 2010 - Drank on Saturday in a vertical from 1999 through 2003. Decanted each bottle for 30 minutes and poured back into the bottle. The 2002 finished 4th out of 5.

July 28, 2008 - I believe this was a perfect window to drink this wine. The nose was amazing. I wanted to smell this as much as I wanted to taste this. The taste was very well balanced - smooth as silk. It wasn't a big cab, so not sure how much more aging it would take before it starts to lose some of its great flavor. Interstingly enough it didn't have one bit of sediment in the bottle, we drank it to the last drop. Must be super filtered.
