April 11, 2009 - Dark garnet cranberry color and a tart nose showing dark cherry and ripe raspberry with a light backing of spice...very fruit forward palate expression and still showing a good acidic balance that went well with roasted pork loin.

June 29, 2008 - Dark garnet color that was a bit cloudy...firm nose showing ripe berries and tart cherrie with just a touch of pepper. Very ripe fruit texture on the palate with a strong acidic counterpoint that actually highlighted the fruit...leaving a firm personality that had a nice lingering finish.

March 5, 2008 - Nice rich ruby red, popped and poured...light nose showing cherry and red berries. Hesitant on opening then came to life over the evening with a medium entry, but a very full and firm mid palate that had a very rounded fruit texture with a firm backing...and a little tartness on the end, that with the fruit gave a nice framework and a lingering finish. Still kicking and a nice surprise...

February 17, 2008 - deep color and extraction, 15.1% alcohol. Complex fruits as described in other notes but seems to be falling apart. Definite vegetal impression emerging in midpalate which becomes more dominate in the finish...too bad

April 11, 2007 - Color: Fairly dark. Deep maroon but not opaque.
Nose: My first whiff screamed rhubarb pie. Then a little funk. And now some sweet red fruits. Just a touch of baking spice.
Palate: Briefly shows some prune juice but gives way to bright red ripe sour cherries and a nice pepper quality. Goes a little dead on the midpalate before charging back with a looooooong finish built on a streak of acidity and hints of nuttiness, pepper, and semi-sweet chocolate. A minute later I'm still getting a some macedamia nuts.
This Siduri SLH just hasn't really come together in perfect balance the way my last one (a month ago) did. It's just a bit tart now and doesn't show all the complexity on the palate compared to last bottle. Nice but underwhelming. (87 pts)
