March 9, 2024 - A very well composed wine.
Quite a deep red, it has a wonderfully perfumed nose (Viognier?) with a broad spectrum of red to dark fruits being accompanied by a touch of oak. Supple body that screams of yumminess that is dominated by plum and spice. Still very fresh and fine tannin. A hint of liquorice on the finish that is smooth and long.
Drink now to 5+ years.1 person found this helpful Comment -

January 31, 2020 - Fruit bomb. Marmelade. Nowhere near the Cote Roties of this price level. Not worth it. This could have been Fondreche Persia for about 1/10 of the price. Ridiculous.

August 12, 2019 - okay... I can't do this bottle justice with words but the first time I had it a year or 2 ago all 4 of us said it was the best wine we had ever had and I can say that while pricey, I am glad I bought another and it did not disappoint despite the huge expectations. So much beautiful fruit with just the right amount of dryness and acidity to balance it out... I could not have enough of it its a wine you could just gulp down a bottle of in 30 minutes but its so good you have to restrain yourself (glad I only split the bottle 2 ways this time). I did however just track down a magnum of it in the UK so will report back and see if it truly is as good as I imagine (will be having it with some other ppl this time). imo no point in waiting, drink up. had the 2004 earlier this year and despite the better ratings imo it doesnt hold a candle to this one but perhaps it is just my taste. This 2009 was much more full bodied and powerful and had such delicious fruit. the 2004 was lighter and more savoury. still good but for the price not really worth it. tasted more like a pure shiraz while the 2009 there is no doubt it contains viognier

February 15, 2019 - Very elegant and perfumed, with dried flowers, dark blackberries, cherries and blueberries all whisked together in a melody along spice and nutmeg along with a great refined tannin structure and a smooth finish. Drink now over the next 10 years. Blend of 92% Shiraz along with 8% Viognier, aged for 20 months in 2nd use french barrels previously used for RunRig.
