February 21, 2024 - Hard to add to Motz's notes below. Lovely deep red colour. This is a classic one and certainly can develop more. Shared with a small group, mostly not Port converts. They became so after this wine! Glad I laid down a few bottles. See you in ten years.

December 31, 2023 - Better than I remember - not too sweet. Elegant and balanced, showing well.

November 25, 2023 - Mesmerizing perfume! Fresh and dried fruits and berries, dark berry liqueur, dates, violets, 'sweet' herbs, dark chocolate ganache, black strap molasses, and layered minerality.

Concentrated, expansive, and bracing! Deceptively massive! Striking depth, range, and structure. This substantive wine invites imbibers to contemplate all things mysterious, meaningful, and satisfying.

Fifteen to twenty years from entering its drinking window, which should last for an additional decade. Magical experiences await the patient...or their heirs. 95-97.

    December 24, 2022 - Beautiful ruby red

October 10, 2021 - Tasted over two days.

Well...this bottle put itself in my hand and seduced me into drinking it. At 10 years in, just beginning to show secondary elements, none of which are particularly defined. The whole package here, muddle fruits and berries, berry liqueurs, violets, spice, dark chocolate, coal, and black earth. Restrained power, spectacular frame, luxurious finish.

A touch more of everything good on the second day. Based on this experience, recommend holding until secondary elements come forward. This will be worth the wait. 95-96.
