  August 14, 2022 - German Riesling from 1971 to 2012 (Los Gatos, California): Medium yellow. I wasn't sure if the aromas were those of cork or petrol, but this turned out to be sound without flaws. Mouthcoating, fuller feel. Complex savory components with a bit of grapefruit coming up late. Duller in the mouth due to lower acidity, but this had some of the most soil of any wine today. Interesting for sure, but the nose kept putting me off and the balance is not perfect.

  July 26, 2018 - Really hitting on all cylinders right now: aromas and flavors of salty, mineral slate; tart grapefruit, unripe apricot, sour apple, and the telltale petrol with some smokey notes in the background. Very well done at the Kabinett level which I might expect more simplicity. Lots of acidity support a long dry finish. Good for 1-2 more years.

  January 8, 2017 - Drank great tonight x2. Some sponti and loads of apricot on the nose. Good fruit, acidity, and minerality. Fairly big body but everything hung together nicely.
