October 29, 2015 - Plum/prune on the nose. The initial sip gives anise, cranberries and fig. Secondary flavors are astringent and dry with tobacco and cedar evident. Finishes with a taste of mixed berries. I appreciate Kenneth Volk's experimenting with varietals that are less common in California.

September 26, 2014 - Overall a very well balanced expression of a small production varietal from Paso. Garnet in the glass, aromatic nose of black fruit and anise, palate is so balanced with acidity, tannins and fruit that the mouthfeel is soft, blackberries, plum hint of jam on the front palate and a medium finish.

February 21, 2014 - Medium clear garnet color. Young, aromatic nose of blackberry, boysenberry, and tea leaf. Dry, fuller body, with medium-high tannins. Tastes of strawberry seeds, cherry, spice, acid, and blueberry skins. Traditional in style.

October 26, 2013 - Really good aglianico from Paso. Ripe dark fruit, plum, fig, a hint of tobacco wrapped nicely with some decent acidity.

September 26, 2013 - Decanted for an hour. Color is a light shade of ruby. Nose is predominant red fruits cranberry and cherry. Palate is medium to full with flavors dominated by cranberry. This wine was consistent across all my bottles. It is just not my style and I will not repeat purchase this year at the winery. 5,12,14,5=86
