Community Tasting Notes 3

April 9, 2016 - This is one of those Burgs that leaves people, who rarely drink Burgs, wondering what the fuss is all about. Not much going on here. PnP in burg glass. Medium ruby color. A little reduced and not much of a nose. Some masking oak on the palate combines with structured sparse tart red fruit and minimal spice. Lacking character, intensity and finesse. Mistakenly thinking there was an affiliation with Robert Arnoux wines I had hoped the combination of respected producer, awesome vintage and a humble but single vineyard Chorey would add up to one of those "sneaky good" values. Fell far short of expectations, even at $24 on sale. Tossed the last glass or two shortly after finishing my wife's great chicken pot pie.

September 17, 2013 - Burgundy and Champagne with Franska Vinlistan (Grappe, Stockholm): Nose with rather ripe strawberries, some oranges, discretely perfumed notes. The palate is medium bodied(-), fruity, with good mineral notes and medium(-) tannins. Rather young, 87(+) p.
Slightly foodier and more accessible than the Savigny Les Pimentiers 2010 from the same producer.

July 13, 2013 - Fairly dark ruby. Nose of ripe cherry and a bit of menthol. Nothing particularly intriguing on the palate, majority tart cherry, very light in body and severely lacking any mid-palate or finishing intensity. Tannins almost non-detectable and low-medium acid. Decent at best.
