Community Tasting Notes 10

February 28, 2024 - Ripe and forward. Sweet, borderline candied red fruit and spice. Not a lot of finesse or detail but very tasting.

November 10, 2023 - Bottle 1375/3465- It took a few hours to fully blossom with Leroy sensation and a touch of rusticity. The fruit profile leaned towards dark fruit spectrum. The wine was dense and powerful while the last glass expressed its sweetness to the fullest. I have consistently prefer 98 Leroy over 99 for having more finesse and elegance. My preference holds.

September 16, 2023 - More dense and intense than the other Aux Boudot, but not quite the Leroy pedigree. Very good for the first few hours, and the flavours started to fall apart in the 5th hour.

December 27, 2017 - Dinner with Leroy Nuits St. Georges les Boudots (Coco Pazzo, Chicago IL): Tasted alongside the 2002. Black fruit aromas with Vosne spice, this wasn't as aromatically enchanting as the 2002, but far more harmonious and complete. This kept opening and lengthening with more time in glass, showing impressive density and concentration, as well as more fruit/ spice intensity. Clearly upside from here.

November 12, 2016 - spicy black fruits, good focus and length. Solid wine, if lacking the "X" factor. Still, given the price of entry, it is easy to forget this vineyard is justifiably a premier cru, and that is where the wine sits in the scheme of things.
I have always wanted to decant this wine into a Chevillon premier cru bottle, and see what people think. Would be fascinating.
