July 9, 2014 - Popped and poured. Color is starting to hint at the age of this wine with just a touch of bricking. The nose had lots of potpourri and saddle leather that turned to more of a brown sugar note after the wine was opened for a few hours. Flavors of black cherry and cinnamon along with subtle cedar notes. The mouth feel was fairly delicate with resolved tannin balanced acidity. Could see this continuing to drink quite well for a number of years. Would purchase again.

October 15, 2011 - (Not decanted). Completely exceeded expectations. I knew it was very good when we bought it at release, but this has improved. Deep and dark, with velvety fruit and a nice smoky element on the nose. THe tannins were graceful and provided perfect structure. Really in a good spot!

June 23, 2011 - Less enthusiastic about this bottle. "Correct" but nothing that really grabs my attention.

February 28, 2011 - Pop/pour. Surprisingly full and complex for a $25 bottle. Dark fruit, cassis, and a bit of oak/vanilla. Agree with a prior reviewer that this is starting to develop a bit if secondary character, but that said, this leads with the "primary". 90-91 points for me. For my tastes, this is a great QPR. Bought this from Pike Western as part of a exercise of learning new wineries. I wish I would have popped one early enough to reload.
