Community Tasting Notes 7

March 3, 2021 - Funky nose with orange drops, overripe apple, beeswax. Palate vibrant and wild, prominent acidity and wonderful herbaceousness. Has many years ahead.

February 18, 2021 - All kinds of stuff going on here. Opened it for a chicken paprikás, and it held up with the heat and melded nicely with the fruity/floral paprika. Dense. Cheesy and honeyed aromas, very heady.
The fruit is quite indescribable. Some notes thrown out were yellow/green plums, yellow tomatoes, nice ripe peppers, orchard fruit, etc. etc. Still quite acidic, but finally mixed into the tannic structure. Really has to be experienced.

April 18, 2020 - One step further maturity wise, big broad flavors of orange, apricots, baked lemon and herbs. Good acidity. Still lots of life left, even feels youthful in some aspects. Very well made and worth seeking out.

December 4, 2017 - Sebastien Riffault tasting at Red and White (Chicago, IL): High-toned and aldehydic on the nose. Bitter almonds and florals. Sweet and honeyed. The palate is also bitter and ripe, but there is good acidity as well. Unintegrated and probably the most disjointed of the Auksinis flight.

July 9, 2016 - Pretty much consistent with previous note almost 2 yars ago, was expecting a bit more development to be honest. Equally good though, fresh, clean, stunning fruit and smooth, vibrant acidity. So very drinkable. No rush.
