March 9, 2019 - Graphite, capsicum, blackberry on the nose. Concentrated dry fruit on the palate with dark tannins, a nice aromatic acid back note. Still raw, but good with sous vide lamb chops and fried spinach with apples, pine nuts and raisins. 50 + 16 + 15 + 7 = 88.

October 7, 2018 - 89-90. (Higher when evaluated for value.) Simple but delicious. Round red/black fruit that's soft but has a bit of a mineral core to it.

January 28, 2018 - This Bordeaux is perfectly passable. This has definitely improved since my last bottle in 2012. This current bottle (pop n pour) was immediately fruity, with balanced structure, easy drinking but still able to accompany a steak....perhaps a little too easy drinking. I blew through this bottle rather quickly (about 2/3rds on the 1st night and the last 1/3rd on night 2). On night two, the wine was still charging ahead, and equal to night one. I’ll probable open my next bottle within a few months and try to drag it out over 3 night to see how it holds up to more air.

January 7, 2017 - Extracted and quite intense for under $20 Bordeaux, showing the power of the vintage. Lacking breadth of flavors but exceptional QPR. Drink or hold

September 9, 2016 - This is vastly superior to the last time I noted it three years ago. The aromas are dark, but they are much more elegant and balanced these days, showing quite pretty blueberries, very sweet graphite powder, cassis, and no hint of the out of balance alcohol I detected before. It actually smells quite delectable these days. Palate entry is vibrant, showing darker toned red fruits (but not black), nice vibrant acidity, moderate soft fine grained tannins, and again, a long notion of dark red fruits that keep it interesting no matter how long you hold it in the mouth. Finish hits with nice black raspberries and blueberries, and then a very nice sweet acidic streak blossoms on the finish. The acid is actually what trails very long and deep into the finish. I think this is actually quite lovely and impressive today! Too bad I drank most of my bottles too young when I didn't think it'd amount to anything. Interesting how on the younger bottles I detected strong oak notes that just aren't present today. I still don't think this is a long term ager, but it will have no problem going another 5 years, at which point it may still be better than today. A nice surprise, and a wine that I was wrong about on release... it just needed time to integrate its awkward parts. This is my 5th bottle consumed (first in a year and a half) and thus far the only one that's been actually enjoyable. So, I'd say the window is now open in spades.
