  October 3, 2015 - Moderately intense, developed yellow color. Somewhat retrained and quite developed nose with aromas of smoke, some sweet fruity notes of dried yellow fruits and hints of oxidative nuttiness. Medium-bodied and lively on the palate with high acidity - yet the wine feels it is lacking the youthful brightness and entered a dull and a bit flat phase of maturity. There are flavors of wizened citrus fruits, some browned apple tones, a little bit of nuttiness and a hint honeyed richness. The long finish is quite mineral with citrus fruits, some bitter stony notes, a bit of bruised apple and a touch of almonds. The aftertaste is persistent, but also feels slightly flat.
  
  A nice, complex and developed Grüner Veltliner, but also perhaps a bit too old. I can imagine this wine being more pleasant about 5 years ago, even if it is still perfectly drinkable. The wine is still far from being dead, but obviously going a bit downhill now, affecting the score somewhat. No need to cellar any further.
