Community Tasting Notes 3

  • Beerzebub Likes this wine:

March 27, 2019 - P&p; drinking well right away, but best with 90+ minutes of air in the bottle. Spicy, floral, black tea, and woodsy/earthy/forest floor aromas, along with cool, reddish fruit; nice definition, transparency, and tension. Similar flavors, bright and juicy with abundant acidity; taut and lithe; tasty/moreish. Nice general pungency and expressiveness hints at the bit of bottle age, without seeming at all over the hill; I would have to guess this is in its prime drinking window. Quite enjoyable, and a good value. Best at a cool cellar temperature. Worked well with roast beef sandwiches.

    March 21, 2019 - Defective - heavily oxidized/pruny. Maybe cooked/cork failure.

June 25, 2014 - Red colour. Cherries and plums on the nose with hints of cocoa. Taste of blueberries and dark chocolate. Could be served to almost everything, a very versatile wine.
