November 3, 2014 - Used for cooking beef stew. Palate was skewed to pine bark bordering on bitter. Was distasteful. Great in the stew.

August 15, 2013 - This low-priced Cabernet was purchased on a whim as a "filler" for a six pack of higher end wines (qualifying for a 10% discount). Opaque purple in color, it has a pleasant nose of currants, boysenberries and tree bark. The wine is round and simple on the palate, with light-to-medium sweet tannins, black fruit flavors and reasonably well-integrated alcohol (listed as 14.5%). The middle palate drops off and the finish is terse. There is nothing "layered" about this wine, but it is certainly respectable and would likely be well-received if served in an informal setting to non-oenophiles. It definitely represents good value. Drink now-2015.
