Community Tasting Notes 13

September 18, 2021 - My last bottle. Still a solid wine with a floral nose along with some earth. Mouth is subdued with maraschino cherry, soft tannins, and a touch of acidity. Tannins dominated the finish which is long and unobtrusive. Glad I bought it; glad I drank it; wished I had more.

November 12, 2020 - Holding its own—see last post. All is the same, and still good.

April 12, 2020 - Beginning to show its age—pronounced brick color, nose is more earth with dark fruit undertones. Mouth is subdued cherry with pleasant acidity. Tannins are subtle; lingers in the finish. Has changed drastically since last tasted. If you have it, drink a bottle. I’m thinking it’s hit its stride.

September 22, 2019 - Still vibrant ruby in color. Mint, wet earth, tobacco, leather, and pepper in the nose, with a hint of ripe plum. Nicely balanced with cherry notes finishing with acidity and softer tannins. Getting close to it’s peak, but not yet there. A lovely wine.

January 29, 2019 - More earth, coffee, mint, and a touch of grilled meat in the nose compared with my last tasting. Fruit was subdued but opened in the mouth with tart cherry and plum and balanced tannins and acidity. Long finish with the fruit fading into tannins. Short decant and cool cellar temperature may have contributed to these impressions, but it was the wine of the evening and thoroughly enjoyable with our meal. No sign of fading with age.
