March 3, 2013 - The first of the delicious, approachable 2007 BdMs that I've opened for consumption. Suckling suggested in his notes that it was good to drink now, and he was right. Popped and put it through the Vinturi. Strong notes of red cherry and iron on the bouquet, which carried over to the palate. Surprisingly open, with minimal acidity and resolved tannins. Vacuumed up half the bottle and set down for 24 hours. By the next evening, the bouquet had taken on a subtle cola scent and the red cherry/meat flavors were really prominent on the palate. Not complex, but deee-lish! For $30 you get a bargain Brunello from a stellar vintage, showcasing classic flavors without extensive time in the cellar. What's not to love about this?

February 12, 2013 - An above average Brunello with some nice toasted oak framing dark fruits on the palate and fine tannins on the back end. Good acidity up front as well. Excellent food wine.
