August 30, 2022 - A gorgeous, rich, complex Cornas at peak. All of the rustic notes have transformed into intrigue and complexity. Loaded with meat, smoke, pepper and earth that is well-integrated into mature black fruits. Outstanding.

November 28, 2018 - Decanted for 30 mins before serving. A bit green and herbal with iron, meat and earth.

October 20, 2018 - Adrian visits Châteauneuf-du-Salil; 10/19/2018-10/20/2018 (Indianapolis): This is classic Cornas; sauvage, meaty, bloody, rustic in both the flavour profile and the texture, and absolutely stunning. The fruit is still quite rich and vibrant and gets deeper and more intense with some air, but at every point, the savoury meaty and iron flavours are firmly in the foreground. It's unapologetically old school in style, still showing some grainy tannin and a touch of coarseness on the back end and without the finesse and delicate touch that some of the newer producers showcase. An incredible bottle, and a joy to drink.

October 20, 2018 - Visiting Châteauneuf-de-Salil (sans Pape); 10/19/2018-10/20/2018 (Indianapolis, IN): Knowing the low quality of corks in this era, I was terrified that this would be corked. How fortunate that those fears did not come to pass. Absolutely stunning Cornas. As good as it gets in the Rhone. Black-fruited, meaty, spicy, a touch of coffee, and wholly Cornas. The palate shows tons of Cornas character, with lots of blood and iron. The fruit is still there as well to round out this wine. Tannins are mostly resolved -- this is fully ready to drink now and is pretty much exactly what it should be.

October 21, 2013 - Excellent traditional cornas - a true land wine. Needs an hour in the decanter growing in weight and stature with air. Classic olives, smoke, garrigue and later on licorice. Excellent structure and years to go, but nice now. Superb expression of Northern Rhone terroir.
