November 16, 2013 - Another reason why we keep trying more Sangiovese based, Italian reds. When they are good, there is tremendous pleasure for the price. This one has 10% Cabernet, which brings some richness and structure to the tasty bright red cherry contribution of the Sangiovese. Might have seen a touch of oak. Very dark color. Typical black cherry nose with graphite and wet dirt. One of those wines where the concentration and flavor belies it's medum bodied mouth feel.
