April 11, 2024 - I had this c1976. With parents, brother and his girl friend, who had given up drinking. Once uncorked, it filled the room with a heavenly perfume and the girl friend changed her mind. Marvelous stuff. Despite youth, no tannic intrusion. $25 (but that is well over a C-note in today's currency). One of my all time favorites. 5 stars.

May 15, 2023 - Always great fun with wines like these, whatever the quality level. This bottle was a touch tired, but nothing was out of whack. Just an old wine giving us some enjoyment and making us work for the rest of it. Fair enough for a 1969 vintage LT.

September 17, 2022 - Impressive showing at this age with clean, floral, forest floor aromatics. Palate could've used a little more sweetness but pure. (00564/24209)

August 7, 2021 - From magnum. A much improved showing over other recents. Clearly La Tache, albeit with a lighter overall character than is typical.

May 2, 2021 - Drank alongside 69 RSV hands down the winner of the flight. Still had life, paired with triple cream and berry jam which accentuated the fruit that was still left. Surprised how good of shape it was in.

June 4, 2019 - I felt this wine was starting to fade but it had an incredible mouthfeel. The power and structure coated the palate with a long finish such as I have never tasted. Admittedly this was my first time drinking such an old DRC wine. The brownish red wine seemed tinged with gold in the glass. Dark fruit and soft tannins but maybe past its prime. A joyous experience nevertheless with great friends at the Palais Coburg in Vienna.

January 1, 2019 - I stored this wine for over forty years. It was decanted for one hour. The color was garnet red with a generous brown edge. The nose was quite forward with a red fruit and leather quality. The body was full and again cherry accented with enough tannins to give it real structure. The finish was lingering and delightful.

December 9, 2017 - Saturday lunch with Eddie (Masseria, DC): My bad luck with the 69 La Tache continues. Some think it is corked, musty but perhaps not the cork TCA. Either way, flawed.
