July 26, 2018 - My experience with this wine was quite similar to Klezman's below. (Good note, thanks!)

Wonderful sweet green bell pepper on the nose, and yes, jalapeƱo on the palate, a minty and vegetal freshness, and a rushing juiciness reminiscent of middle-age Sangiovese; tannins leading acid.

This was a joy to drink and in fine form. I poured it into a decanter and we drank it straight away from there over 45 minutes. The first 10 minutes were primary and juicy, tart cranberries and bright red fruits, then it closed down and got tighter over the next 20, and the tannins released their grip in the end to make a very balanced and satisfying Napa cab as we finished it. Fun bottle.

October 12, 2014 - PnP - yup, it's still good! Nice aged Napa Cab character leaping out of the glass. Must, earth, jalapeno, menthol, eucalyptus, and some red fruit lurking underneath it all. A bit of bricking around the edges, but otherwise a nice dark red colour. Acid and even a hint of tannin remain on the palate along with the fruit and earth.

Kept opening up in the bottle, and the fruit came out more while retaining all the interestingness of the initial few sips.

February 14, 2013 - On PnP it's clearly doing well. Cork was in perfect condition and came out easily. Colour is only marginally bricked, and otherwise a nice purple. Aromas are all over the map, and all good: tight plum, olive, eucalyptus, earth, and a nice bottle bouquet. Flavours are similar, with a nice hit of green pepper as well. Great bottle, and the rest went into the decanter.

Wine opened up nicely and kept getting better. Excellent. It's probably got a fairly long life ahead of it.

July 20, 1989 - With K at home at dinner (pizza). Mature dark red. Nose dominated by eucalyptus and mint. On the palate, good flavor. Berries, eucalyptus. Very ripe. medium-bodied. Good balance. probably right at its peak, though there are still some unresolved tannins. 5-10-15-6: 86/100.

March 1, 1988 - At London Wine Bar. A bit of a disappointment. Austere.
