October 2, 2017 - Deep garnet with a slight bricking edge. Nose of dark cherries, dark chocolate, and leather. Tastes of cherries, crushed blackberries, dark chocolate, tar, and slight earthiness. Lovely fruit and structure. Still holding up well but at or just past prime. Drink over the next 3-5 years.

December 12, 2015 - Allowed to breathe in glass 1 hour before tasting. Clear deep dark garnet color. Lovely fresh bouquet of boysenberries, cherries and black currants and their liqueurs, along with mocha, fennel, anise, hints of tobacco, nutmeg, cloves, and forest floor. Similar on the palate, full body, rich, generous, bit of brandy-like alcoholic heat despite the cool serving temperature. Mouth-coating tannins and firm acidity suggest many good years ahead. Improved with air and held up well under vacuum stopper for four days in refrigerator.

August 16, 2014 - Blackberry and red cherry, quite ripe but not overripe; good acidity, intense palate with long finish; this still has some ways to go; kept improving over two days.
