Community Tasting Notes 6

October 30, 2021 - An Afternoon Tasting Burgundy (Chevalier Fine Wines - Elmhurst IL): Completely past its peak, no longer drinkable. But 1998s were not made to last this long.

  • ashegedyn Likes this wine:

May 21, 2016 - Nice chalk and saline nose. Something there of a floral character. Complex and chalky. On taste really ice flavours of fruit and mineral. The texture is the key. Waxy but open. Very nice finish. Relatively long. Really in a nice place. This is on a more linear style but quite nice.

February 21, 2016 - Great nose. Complex, slate or flint, white flower, citrus, and spearmint a la Ramonet. Open citrus and chalk on taste with a long mineral finish. Very fresh - feels like it was just bottled except for the more open palate. These are really nice bottles. Absolutely no premox.

June 9, 2015 - IWFSC 802 Dinner (Glenview Country Club, Golf IL): Very good despite some btl variation. Good nose, nothing really compelling yet good. Went very nicely with the halibut. Drink up.
