March 13, 2015 - Appearance was dark ruby red, cloudy due to being un-fined and un-filtered.

Nose of dark cherry, dark chocolate, spices (cinnamon) and a savoury meaty side as well.

Tastes amazing. Sour strawberry and cherry give way to a more savoury pan scraping/cured meat taste, then the acid and tannin kick in and continue on the pallet for a long time. Balanced and long length.

    Lovely stuff.

March 29, 2013 - Medium plus ruby red
Nose: med plus intensity, developing, savoury, dark cherries, raspberries, spice, hints lemongrass, earth, forest floor.
Palate: med plus intensity, raspberries, cherries, spice, forest floor, lemongrass, plums.
Medium bodied, med plus acid, long length.
Concentrated, complex and elegant Pinot with abundant primary fruit and savoury characters.
Enough acidity to cellar for another 6 years.

December 14, 2012 - Rich, powerful nose of black cherry and burnt oak. Concentrated blackcurrant on the palate is balanced by notes of lemon juice and porcini mushrooms. Cleansing, high-acid finish.

June 26, 2011 - Tasting at Curly Flat with Phillip, Matthew, the cats and the fireplace (Curly Flat Winery): A massive savory nose of smoked meats, soft spices, vanillin and ripe fruit. The palette is rich and velvet in texture with big fruit nose, earth, briar and a magic finish. Top notch.

November 14, 2010 - Huge step up in class from the William's Crossing. A genuine example of Oz pinot in Burgundian clothing with firm flavours of iron and blood. Some complexity here but not really friendly. Needs 5yrs plus before taking a look at again.
