January 1, 2024 - Dark purple with a Blackberry nose. Delightful vibrant and fresh black fruit taste with a iron and earth depth mid palate but sort of thin & shorter finish.

April 4, 2023 - Orange, cherry, strawberry, rose, cigar. Reminds me quite a lot of mature Rioja. Elegant and complex. Drink now - 2025.

January 6, 2023 - Translucent darker ruby. Nose of wiry red berry, fulsome violets, saline, ferric notes, earth. Layers of red raspberry, strawberry hints, iron, and fine earth on the satiny palate. Well-managed, minimally intrusive oak notes. Filed off tannin and bright acidity. Longer finish of red fruit shot through with earth and iron filings. Lovely wine on this showing but has definitely upside.

November 6, 2021 - This Thibault was was very well balanced, with integrated tannins and a delicious purity and freshness. However, Alex thought the intensity of the bouquet and flavour on the palate were considerably surpassed by the Grivot Chambolle which had fab minerality all the way down, albeit delivered with less sophistication although that improved over the evening. The Thibault is probably not for the long haul.

November 26, 2020 - Medium ruby color. Aromas of smoked red berries - raspberry and cranberry, rose hips, allspice berry, clove, and cracked pepper. Open-knit red pomegranate and orange skin flavors on the palate, over a core of mineral earth, and dried floral & herbs. Airy and elegant middle texture, with slightly angular acidity, giving way to silky plush tannins. Finishing with moderate depth and length. To the lighter side of typical for this bottling, but well-enjoyed. Thanksgiving dinner wine so it went fast, could have used a bit more air. Recommend a few more years of holding.

September 5, 2020 - This was a great wine to go with duck l'orange. Needed some air. Served at 60F. Wonderful nose of dark cherries, forest floor and mushrooms. Darker fruits on the palate. Very balanced. Hard to believe it is 2011. Power and elegance. Lovely now, can age effortlessly for many years. 93+.

May 20, 2020 - This is young but lovely. A hit in this vintage. Powerful and expressive nose yields to a medium weight palate with excellent fruit and good zip. Melting tannins. Finish is long, balanced and emphasizes the fruit. A lightweight perhaps for LSG but a very tasty lightweight that should improve but is drinking very well now.

April 25, 2020 - Tasted and reviewed double blind. Very likely pinot, very likely Burgundy. Aromas of red cherries with savory accents of soy sauce, dark sesame oil, and freshly mown grass. A little more blood orange on the palate, but not tart. Relatively thick mouthfeel with relatively substantial tannins (assuming this is Burgundy). My guess is ~10 year old Burgundy, maybe Premier Cru or lower-end Grand Cru. I don’t have enough knowledge of Burgundy appellations to go beyond that. Rating 92. Drink over the next 10 years?

January 18, 2020 - I opened the first of my three bottles after probably waiting 6+ years. My own notes say it's best opened after 2023. I'll confirm this wine could use a little more time but it is absolutely showing very well now. I suggest giving it some air first. Delicate and sophisticated nose. Very well balanced wine. Elegant Burg featuring light toned berries with strong minerals. Everything has to still integrate 100% but it's all there. This wine has that perfect 'tartness' vs. 'sweetness' balance that IMO makes burgs so unique and delicious to drink. Very nice wine.

January 3, 2020 - A beautiful Les Saint Georges that’s starting to hit its straps. Opened for 6 hours but not decanted before drinking. Just enough to make this sing after 10 minutes in the glass. Plenty of primary fruit here - red berries cherries, ripe cranberry - but also some stony minerality, earth and gentle spices which add some nice complexity. But still fruit dominant. Very seamless and easy (for a NSG) on the palate. No sharp edges or feisty acidity here at all. Instead, there’s plenty of integrated mineral drive across the palate leading to a medium-long finish. Tannins play an important but supporting role. Really lovely now but I suspect this will be even better in about 5 years. Truely tasty!
