August 13, 2008 - A balanced, not overpowering, nose. Tart red fruit and a rich spice throughout. Complemented well some peppery arugula and grilled skirt steak. Made for an easy and tasty drink.

November 4, 2007 - Just starting to fade, this was peaking 6 months ago. A dark, dull purple, the nose didnt give up much beyond a vague hint of fruit and some foresty notes. Dark and tart fruit on the palette, like cranberry is dominated by a dusky spiciness - tobacco and spicebox flavors. Rather full bodied and overall old world in style at this point, it was nice but almost too much for a simply broiled salmon. Shari was a fan and i enjoyed, but glad consumed now. [winemaker says this wine likes 4-7 years so maybe its just shutting down for a bit and not fading..., alas its my last of 3]
