December 17, 2023 - Left this too long. Almost port like and the cork was dry. Nevertheless the quality and roundness shone through - quality house by all means.

February 8, 2014 - What an absolutely beautiful nose of strawberries and cherries! It's a light body wine, but it has mouth watering acidity well balanced by the fresh fruit and a lightly tannic backbone! It has a medium finish that tails off with a bit of minerality. At $23, it's a great bargain.

November 10, 2013 - Sydney Italian Wine Festival - Nebbiolo Masterclass: Graphite, raspberry, red currant and chalk - a pretty nose. Medium bodied, quite approachable with just a light tannic spine. Nice wine.

August 2, 2013 - I bought this based on the note written by 'ChazBham' ...he nailed it. Killer value for traditional Nebbiolo at this price point. I'll add: Kind of LdH Tondonia in its dusty strawberry, herbs and elegant but deft structure...less the extended time in barrel.

August 2, 2013 - Aromas of lingonberries and red currants. has a lot of personality for being just at youngster Langhe nebbiolo. Refreshing, one too buy by the case!

April 18, 2013 - certainly one of the more complex and tradiitonal Langhes to be had. But at 14.5 degrees, it tastes of alcohol even sitting out for a day. Needs a couple of years, and will last 10 or more.

March 13, 2013 - Burlotto's entry level Nebbiolo under the Langhe classification, with production of about 400 cases per year. Ravishing aromatics of red berries, earth, and herbal elements, notably thyme, just after you've rubbed a few leaves between your fingers. Nicely balanced, with uncommon structure and complexity for an entry level offering. What it lacks in overall depth compared to an aged Monvigliero should be tempered by the fact this is a $23 Nebbiolo and of a tender, infantile age, just from the 2011 vintage. An astonishing wine for its youth and price point. One of the best (if not the best) entry-level offerings of any Barolo producer I know of.

Burlotto seems to have been practically nonexistent in N. America before the 2001 vintage year, I believe in recent years, they only began to receive importer support to the US. I've noticed there have been some library releases from the late 60s and early 70s that have made it to the US in recent years. The tasting notes on CT for these well-aged wines have been variable, to no surprise.
