Community Tasting Notes 5

January 23, 2021 - Opened as part of a Last Chance Blind Wine Tasting over Christmas. Started out brownish, light and "weak" with little flavor showing through especially against other bigger reds. But over a few hours, the consensus starting changing for the positive. The aged / subtle flavors retuned and we were able to detect and appreciate the delicate nature of a nicely aged Brunello. So in the end the bottle should have been decanted, and it was unfair to pair it against bigger wines, but it was a fair representation of an aged Brunello, although I would not call it a value buy at $59.99.

August 2, 2015 - Light color but not really light in body. Tart cherry almost cranberry. Decent value drink now

August 13, 2013 - Drank with bavette steak and grilled chicken. This is a delicate wine, easily overpowered by big food. But the balance and texture is impressive. I don't see it getting much better, or more complex.

April 3, 2013 - Decanted for 30 minutes and drank over 2 hours. Color is bright red. Nose is cherries, flowers, some spice. Taste is ripe dark/tart cherries and spice box. The cherry taste almost has a liquor like characteristic which is enjoyable. The tannins are there as well but provide a nice balance to counteract the sweetness of the wine. Finish is medium at about 20 seconds. Overall a very enjoyable wine and decent QPR at $35 a bottle. 91-92 pts, enjoy.
